Integralis Broadens Healthcheck Services Portfolio

Theale, Reading – 1st October 2008 – Integralis, the leading IT security service provider has signed a world-wide partnership agreement with Secerno, the technology leader in database security. Integralis will utilise Secerno’s award-winning Secerno.SQL Agile data stream analysis solution to power its new Database Healthcheck service. The company will also take Secerno’s products into its portfolio, including its Secerno.SQL database activity monitoring and blocking solutions, now also available as a virtual appliance, to cater for the increasing trend towards customers considering virtual environments as part of their infrastructures.

With Secerno.SQL Agile, also now on the VMware platform, Integralis will be able to address audit and compliance concerns through the newly streamlined tools at a lower cost while providing a more consultative and customisable service. For example, regular reviews and additional corrective services will be provided along with a customisable system that provides real-time database and compliance reports together with database analysis across network environments.

Based on breakthrough research into efficient grammatical clustering SynoptiQ, the powerful technology behind Secerno.SQL, analyses all database traffic to automatically identify the true intent of all database requests. Uniquely, it is then able to cluster these with others of similar intent and to highlight database threats and out-of-policy data access.

“This agreement will enable Integralis to assess, with unprecedented granular analysis, exactly how customers’ data is accessed and changed,” commented Graham Jones, Managing Director of Integralis UK. “At Integralis we pride ourselves on providing the very best in security services to our customers and by utilising Secerno’s database expertise we can ensure that we remain ahead of growing trends such as the increased take up of virtualisation within the infrastructure.”

“We are thrilled that Integralis has decided to take advantage of our Secerno.SQL solutions, powered by our patent-pending SynoptiQ technology,” added Steve Hurn, CEO, Secerno. “There is no doubt that new ways of working can increase the security threats that organisations face and together, we believe that Integralis and Secerno can ensure customers maintain their competitive edge and enjoy comprehensive database security.”

Integralis’ Database Healthcheck service will analyse how customers’ applications are utilising their databases through the data stream analysis capabilities of Secerno.SQL Agile. In adding this analysis to the service, Integralis will be able to address a number of issues ranging from authenticated users carrying out unauthorised activity or accidentally misusing the data from within the database, non-compliant data access or changes to data, unexpected access to vital data such as credit cards, and identifying vulnerabilities and inefficiencies in applications and database stored procedures.

The Integralis Database Healthcheck service forms part of the security audit carried out by Integralis Professional Services and is based upon BS7799 and best working practices, consists of a review of the physical environment, and the existing policies for both system and application security. This results in a report specifying where areas are properly covered, or identifying weaknesses, and making recommendations to achieve a secure computing environment. Following the audit, Integralis Professional Services plans and assists in the implementation of recommendations. The Secerno.SQL Agile solution will now become a key part of the initial audit as well as the option for Secerno.SQL to remain in place to continually monitor activities across the customer infrastructure.

About Secerno
Headquartered in Oxford, UK, Secerno provides the world’s most advanced, comprehensive and intelligent activity monitoring and database security solution, now uniquely available in both a hardware and virtual appliance.

The company offers the highest levels of protection against internal and external threats, optimises compliance auditing and delivers the ability to improve the security of applications. Its proprietary machine-learning technology automatically fingerprints the true intent of all database interactions, enabling organisations to see and prove with unprecedented granular analysis exactly how their databases are accessed.

At the core of all products is Secerno’s SynoptiQ technology, based on breakthrough research into efficient grammatical clustering. SynoptiQ analyses all database traffic to automatically fingerprint the true intent of all database requests. This enables organisations to see and prove with unprecedented granular analysis exactly how their data is accessed and changed. SynoptiQ automatically clusters database interactions with others of similar intent; highlighting areas of concern such as authenticated users abusing their privileges, attackers masquerading as authenticated users or any other form of SQL injection attack.

Uniquely, Secerno enforces a positive security policy of only approved behaviour, providing the option to either log, monitor, block or substitute database requests, all the while delivering zero false positives and eliminating the need for resource-intensive allow and block lists or externally-produced signatures

Secerno offers protection to customers across industries including financial services, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, retail, and government agencies and departments. The company is funded by UK investors Amadeus Capital, Eden Ventures and SPARK Ventures. For more information, go to http://www.secerno.com
